Apply for Financial Aid

Financial aid applications will be accepted beginning November 8, 2019. The application must be submitted online to TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services) by the financial aid application deadline of December 6, 2019 for current Cary Academy families and January 17, 2020 for new applicant families. Applications for financial assistance will be accepted after the deadline date; however, typically monies are not available for late applications.

The TADS application collects financial data to guide determination of financial assistance eligibility, but TADS does not make decisions about recipients or the amount of financial aid awarded. The decision rests solely with the Cary Academy Financial Aid Committee, which takes into consideration all family circumstances. It is important that your application contain complete and accurate information, and that all supporting documentation is submitted by the deadline. Any unusual circumstances require explanations; therefore, we strongly encourage families to write a letter to the Financial Aid Committee providing a more personal explanation of your financial needs. The letter can be submitted to the Director of Admissions or to TADS.

When parents are separated, divorced, or never married, the assets of both parents are considered and both parents must complete an application for financial assistance. If a parent has remarried or a partner has joined the household, the income and assets of the spouse/partner must be reported on the financial aid application.

As a part of the financial aid application process, you will be required to provide a copy of your 2018 tax records including all W-2's, 1099's, and all other supporting tax documentation to TADS. If a financial aid award is granted and accepted, your 2018 tax documents must be submitted to TADS on or before May 1, 2020. Cary Academy reserves the right to review the tax documentation and modify the financial assistance award accordingly.
