What’s in a name? Impact.

October 24, 2024

By now, you have probably opened an email, received a mail piece, and maybe even seen the signs around campus for our Passion to Purpose campaign. However, at Cary Academy, turning Passion to Purpose is more than just a tagline or a fall “theme”—it’s a guiding principle that drives everything we do. It means having the resources to empower students to pursue their interests, no matter how small, and transform them into meaningful, purpose-driven lives.

Consider Serena Advani, ’13, who turned her passion for skincare and entrepreneurship into Seadrop, an innovative, waterless skincare line tackling environmental issues like plastic waste and carbon emissions. Serena’s entrepreneurial journey began right here at CA, when she launched her first venture as part of her entrepreneurship club. That early experience lit a spark that guided her toward a purpose-driven career—one that blends her love of science and business with her commitment to making a difference. (Look for Serena’s full story in the Cary Academy magazine hitting your mailboxes later this fall.)

Stories like Serena’s unfold across campus daily. We see it in the students who engineer creative projects in our MakerSpace, in the student entrepreneurs who design and market products in the Hub, in the eager participants of the many clubs across campus, and in the passionate students whose discussions spill out of classrooms, filling the Quad with energy long after the bell rings.

These moments of curiosity—of passionate learning—are the building blocks of purpose. But it is your support which allows us to empower students with the resources to assemble them into a purpose-driven path to the future—one that will sustain them long after they leave our campus.

We are halfway through our fall campaign, and with that, almost halfway to our goal of $300,000.

If you have made your gift, thank you! If you are considering yours, thank you. Whether through class trips, X Days, student competitions and teams, or classroom experiences, your gifts allow us to continue saying ‘yes’ to students in pursuit of their purpose.

Will you help a student convert their passion to purpose by making your first gift today?
